Betty J. (Adams) Daily
NAUGATUCK — Betty J. (Adams) Daily of Margaret Circle, Naugatuck, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday Feb. 28 at Waterbury Hospital after a valiant struggle with Alzheimer’s disease over the past ten years with her loving husband Bernard J. Daily by her side.

Mrs. Daily was born in Penns Grove, N.J. on May 5, 1928, a daughter of the late John R. and Elsie (Gould) Adams. She was a graduate of Swarthmore College and a Naugatuck resident for over 50 years. She worked at DuPont Chemical as an executive secretary for 15 years, the Naugatuck YMCA, City Hill Middle School where she was an assistant librarian and substitute teacher, and the Naugatuck Welcome Wagon. She was a former president of both the Naugatuck Junior Women’s Club and Council of Catholic Women; and an active parent in the St. Francis of Assisi HSA. She was a communicant of St. Vincent Ferrer Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild and active participant with the Parish Fair. Among her passions, Betty enjoyed traveling especially to the beach and gardening, but most of all; she always looked forward to spending time with her loving family.

Besides her husband of 55 years, she leaves her loving children, Monica Daily Piombino of Madison, Thomas V. Daily and his wife Sue of Simsbury, Bernard J. Daily and his wife Eileen of West Haven, Melissa Rockovich and her husband Stanley of Jamison, Pa.; her 11 cherished grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, and Meagan Piombino, Patrick, Caitlin, Mary Rose, Maeve, and Jack Daily, Joseph, Michael, and Abigail Rockovich; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, John Adams, Jr. and Sherman Adams.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday March 3 at 9:15 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck to St. Vincent Ferrer Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
