Dominic J. Mariano, Jr., age: 63, of Naugatuck and Myrtle Beach, SC, husband of Nancy A. (Manville) Mariano, passed away on Monday January 3, 2011.
Dominic was born in Waterbury, CT on March 24, 1947, son of the late Dominic J. Mariano, Sr., and the late Helen (Rek) Mariano. He was a graduate of Boston University and received a Bachelors Degree in public relations. He had lived most of his life in Naugatuck, and he had retired from Smith Barney as vice president of wealth management. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving as an Infantry Captain and remained active in the Army Reserves. Dominic was an avid golfer and was a member of the Tunxis Country Club where he played in the Twilight Golf League.
Besides his wife Nancy, he leaves his son Timothy C. Mariano and his wife Melissa of Hong Kong, his brother Paul J. Mariano and his wife Linda of Southbury, CT, three grandchildren, Mia, Jackson and Alexis Mariano, two brothers in law, James Manville and his wife Barbara of Newtown, and Gerald Manville and his wife Beverly of Naugatuck, his niece Gina Mariano of Naugatuck, and two nephews, David and William Manville of Newtown.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday January 8, 2011 at 10AM at Holy Saviour National Catholic Church, 118 Prospect Street, Naugatuck. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church at 9:45AM. Calling hours will be held at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck funeral home on Friday January 7, 2011 from 5-8PM.
