Laura Mulinski

BEACON FALLS – Mrs. Laura J. (Poeta) Mulinski, 41, of Briarwood Drive, Beacon Falls, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Yale-New Haven Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the loving wife of Steven W. Mulinski.
Laura was born in Derby on January 26, 1969, a daughter of Louis and Mary (Tomassini) Poeta of Beacon Falls. She was a graduate of Naugatuck High School and Naugatuck Valley Community College, School of Radiology. She was a lifelong Beacon Falls resident and worked at Sharon Hospital for 15 years as an X-Ray technician. Among her many special qualities, Laura was greatly devoted to her family, passionate about cooking, and had a love for animals.

Besides her husband and parents she leaves: her two brothers, Louis Poeta and his wife Janet of Beacon Falls; Anthony Poeta and his wife Amy of Charlotte, NC; hersister, Cynthia Poeta of Beacon Falls; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mitch and Wanda Mulinski of Beacon Falls; as well as several nieces and nephews. She also leaves her beloved dog, Butters and cat, Lilly.
Her family would like to thank the staff at the Smilow Cancer Center at Yale-New Haven for the compassionate care given throughout Laura’s battle.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 28 at 10am at St. Michael’s Church, 25 Maple Avenue, Beacon Falls. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church at 9:45am. Burial will follow in St. James’ Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. Calling hours will be held at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck on Monday from 3-7pm.
