HARTFORD — State Rep. Lezlye Zupkus, R-Prospect, has qualified for the Citizens’ Election Program for the 2016 general election.

The program is a voluntary program that allows qualifying candidates for General Assembly and statewide offices to receive full public financing. To qualify for public campaign financing, state representative candidates must raise a certain amount of money from individuals residing in their district with no contributions from state contractors or PACs.

Zupkus is running for her third term representing the 89th House District, which covers Bethany, Prospect and a portion of Cheshire. Zupkus said she is humbled and excited by the support of the donors in her bid for re-election.
