John L. Illes

NAUGATUCK — John L. Illes, 85, beloved husband of Irene (Mitchell) Illes, passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017.

John was born in Naugatuck on Aug. 17, 1932, son of the late John J. and Helen (Illes) Illes. A lifetime Naugatuck resident, he retired from Bristol Babcock after 32 years of service. He proudly served his country in the United States Army 102nd Infantry Regiment during the
Korean Conflict. John was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 1946 in Naugatuck, and he enjoyed his family, parties, and socializing with his friends.

Besides his wife of 36 years, he is survived by his children, Peter Huculak, III and his wife, Winsome, David Huculak and his companion, Dana Anders, Kathleen LaGrave and her husband, Steven, Dawn Marchant, and Mary Taylor and her companion, Nicholas Zawacki, all of Naugatuck; his 18 grandchildren; his seven great-grandchildren; and two nieces. John was predeceased by his brother, Andrew Illes.

Funeral services will be private. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
