BEACON FALLS — A 27-year-old Wilton man was arrested Sunday after police say he was caught trying to break into a home on Cook Lane.

The homeowner and his family were home when they noticed a man, identified as Dylan Owen of 40 Antler Lane, outside of the house with tools in his hand shortly before 6 a.m., police said. The homeowner reported to police that Owen had broken several windows in an attempt to gain access to the house.

State troopers from Troop I in Bethany responded and quickly located Owen, police said. No injuries were reported.

Police said Owen caused substantial damage to multiple windows on the outside of the home and damaged two vehicles parked at the house.

Owen was charged with second-degree burglary, first-degree criminal mischief, reckless endangerment, risk of injury to a minor, second-degree breach of peace, possession of burglar’s tools and sixth-degree larceny. He was held on a $50,000 bond and scheduled to appear at Derby Superior Court on Monday.
