NAUGATUCK — William F. Scheithe, beloved husband of Betty A. (Rusgaitis) Scheithe, went home to the Lord at Beacon Brook Health Center on Wednesday, June 21, 2017.
Bill was born in Waterbury on Feb. 19, 1933, son of the late Franklin and Josephine (Ambrosiewicz) Scheithe. He had owned and operated Bill’s Service Station in Naugatuck for 37 years and had also worked at Frank Buick, the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, and the Country Club of Waterbury. Bill also served as supernumerary for the Borough of Naugatuck. He was an avid golfer, a New York Yankee and Giant fan, and a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Bill spent many mornings with his many friends at Burn’s Coffee Shop in Naugatuck.
Besides his wife Betty, he is survived by his son, Christopher W. Scheithe; his daughter, Denise Kelley, all of Naugatuck; and several nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his sister, Harriett Rosa.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., Naugatuck. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in St. James Cemetery. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
