PROSPECT — Theresa “Terri” Charette, 81, died peacefully on Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Terri was born on April 20, 1936 in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Albert and Emma (Andria) Carpentier. She attended Woodrow Wilson grade school, and graduated from Wilby High School Class of 1954, and the St. Mary’s Nursing School. Terri was a registered nurse and later became the director of home interior and gifts.

Terri enjoyed a busy life and was always the life of the party, whether she was at a family gathering, fireworks display, or being a member of one her many clubs and organizations, she lived life to the fullest. She was a member of the NAVA Ski Club. She was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed being a member of the Prospect and Watertown country clubs and a regular at Lakewoods Lanes. Terri could always be found at the Prospect Senior Center. Whether she was in a pool league, playing or organizing pinochle games, or playing cards or bocce ball, she really enjoyed the time and the friends she had at the senior center. She also enjoyed frequent trips to the casinos. Most of all she loved spending time with her family.

Terri is survived by her sons, Donald Charette and wife, Sue, of Woodbury and Douglas Charette, of Prospect; her daughters Michele Chase and husband, Greg, of Marlborough, Kim Bedini and husband, Luke, of Roxbury and Barbara Gervais and husband, Bob, of Laguna Woods, Calif.; her brother, Bert Carpentier; her grandchildren, Brandon and Mackenzie Chase, Luke and Adam Bedini, Rebecca and her husband, Alex Alferi, Bryan, Allyson and Jennifer Charette and Alexa and Lauren Charette; and her great-grandchild, Anthony Alferi. Terri was predeceased by her parents and daughter-in-law, Linda Charette.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Everyone attending is kindly asked to go directly to church. Burial will be private.
