To the editor,
“If CNN can’t be trusted as reliable news, then who and what is fake news then?” wrote Sebastian Puczynski in a recent letter, “Media Literacy needs to be taught in school.”
How fitting that recently “CNN corrected a Tuesday report after the release of former FBI Director James Comey’s opening statement for his Thursday testimony in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee contradicted the report’s sources.”
Another liberal “skews” outlet leaning on later-debunked “unnamed sources” has to walk back their “reporting” that took four reporters, including rabid anti-Trumper Jake Tapper, to concoct the ripe they’re now eating. Comey refuted even the New York Times story, “Trump Campaign Aides Had Repeated Contacts With Russian Intelligence,” answering “Yes” to the question, was it “almost entirely wrong?”
All those daily Presidential Favorability Polls in the toilet? Brought to you by the very same media who fed you polls that Hillary was a 90 percent to 99 percent lock.
President Trump happened because the left/left-controlled media ignored, deplored or laughed at all who disagreed with them. They hate Trump now because he made them look like fools. They’re like temper-tantrum-throwing children who lost their place at the head of the table. All that the left’s/media’s anti-Trump histrionics will do now is keep driving more people away from the Democrat party and its most-left-leaning anarchist constituents. Even Gov. Malloy finally realized his error — too late — that he can’t tax and spend us to death anymore. Too bad he’ll retire and we’ll be stuck paying for it.
Google “Rathergate.” Read Powerlineblog.com, by the attorneys who outed “Rathergate.” There’s your first class in media literacy. For those who watch CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, MSNBC or read the New York Times, the Washington Post, you won’t know a thing about “Rathergate.” You won’t know the whole truth about lots of issues.
“Rathergate” was when CBS News reported “using fabricated documents, that George W. Bush shirked his duty to his country during the Vietnam war by maneuvering his way into the Texas National Guard, so as to avoid going to Vietnam.” Powerlineblog blew the lid off the faked documents that Dan Rather fell for.
Go there, search for Associated Press or Washington Post. If you really want to be literate about media, you’ve got some catching up to do. Go to The Weekly Standard, The Federalist, American Thinker, RealClearPolitics.com. Read what liberal professor Alan M. Dershowitz wrote, “[As] Comey confirmed … our history shows that many presidents — from Adams to Jefferson, to Lincoln, to Roosevelt, to Kennedy, to Bush 1, and to Obama — have directed the Justice Department with regard to ongoing investigations. The history is clear, the precedents are clear, the constitutional structure is clear, and common sense is clear.”
Yes, rightwing nuts have created some fake news. It’s appalling and true conservatives denounce it. But the left started and perfected it because some 65 million Americans have bought their fake news, hook line and sinker. They even believed Hillary Clinton, who herself was punked by the fake news of two Twitter pranksters with a campaign webpage (that remains online even now) about Trump being a white supremacist because someone on Trump’s campaign inserted a green frog cartoon named Pepe into some tweets. Why didn’t every liberal get their outrage on when Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj tweeted that same image?
Sadly, most Connecticut school personnel, from grade one through college, and most on both coasts, already teach kids their liberal-biased, fake-news-based media literacy. Check if your kid’s school is strangling free speech at www.thefire.org (hint: it’s only allowed for the liberals in higher education). As the kids say, “Get Woke.”
