PROSPECT — The Planning and Zoning Commission last week scheduled a public hearing for June 7 on a special permit for a 40,000-square-foot industrial building and accompanying site improvements at 99 Union City Road.

The parcel is 29.69 acres and owned by Industrial Storage & M & J Services LLC out of Bethany, according to land records.

Roland Desrosiers, a land surveyor and planner based out of Naugatuck, said the property was previously approved for a subdivision. He said the owners of the land divested interest in it except for one man.

Desrosiers said the building will be used for onsite storage of cranes, large trucks and other equipment. He said the building will be 800 to 1,000 feet back from the road and have a driveway.

“It’s not going to be an industrial park. It’s not going to be a road. It’s going to be a driveway,” Desrosiers told the commission.
