Flags on display for Memorial Day

PROSPECT — The Prospect Flag Fund, with the assistance of Ed The Tree Man, has again displayed over 125 American flags to honor all members of the military past and present.

The flags are displayed on utility poles over nearly 5 miles of roads running through the center of town. This is year sixth year of the display, which was started by resident Robert Hiscox. The flags are displayed prior to Memorial Day and remain up until the fall.

Each flag is replaced every two to three years along with other hardware. The project is funded entirely from local donations. Donations to the project can be sent to: Prospect Flag Fund, Town Hall, 36 Center St., Prospect, CT 06712. For more information, call Hiscox at 203-758-4687.
