WATERBURY — Melanie Marie Korotash, 62, of Waterbury, formerly of Naugatuck, died peacefully on April 8, 2017 at Vitas Hospice, St. Mary’s Hospital. Born in Derby on Aug. 27, 1954, she was the daughter of the late John and Cecilia B. (Zygmunt) Korotash.
Miss Korotash was a resident of Naugatuck for many years before moving to Waterbury two years ago. She worked as a clerk and bookkeeper for the A&P supermarket of Naugatuck until her retirement. She was previously employed by Waldbaum’s.
Miss Korotash is survived by her devoted cousins, Atty. Mark (Lynda) Korotash of Newtown, Elizabeth (John) Sedlak of Louisiana, and Stephen Korotash of Texas.
The family would like to thank Melanie’s caregivers Leky Santiago, Sulyanet Santiago and Alexandra Earnshaw for their love and compassion over the past three years.
A memorial Mass, meeting directly at church, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017, in Sts Peter and Paul Church, 105 Clifton Ave., Ansonia. Interment will follow in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Derby. The Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia, is in care of arrangements.
