Obituary: Jost Heinrich Schreiber

NAUGATUCK — Jost Heinrich Schreiber, 72, fell asleep in death on April 9, 2017, surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with pneumonia.

“Heiner,” as he was known by his family and friends, was born on July 4, 1944 in Siegen Westfallen, Germany, the son of the late Henrich and Else (Muenker) Schreiber. Heiner came to America in November of 1963. He worked for almost 50 years as a master tool and die maker, first at Achenbach in Buschhueten, Germany, then at American Specialty Company in Shelton and then at Schultz Manufacturing in Waterbury.

Heiner leaves his wife of 50 years, Linda Mae Jecture Schreiber of Naugatuck; his son, Daniel Schreiber of Shelton; his daughters, Andrea Tatalias and her husband, Christopher, of Shelton and Sarah Reeves and her husband, Judah, of Milford; as well as his grandchildren, Penelope and Jack.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. including a brief talk for the family and friends at noon at the Courtyard Marriott, 63 Grove St., Waterbury. A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting with arrangements.
