NAUGATUCK — Police arrested four teenagers this week and charged them with breaking into a car on City Hill Street.

At about 3 a.m. on Thursday, officers responded to City Hill Street after a resident reported seeing three people run from her driveway. Police said the woman’s purse and other items were stolen from her car.

Police said they found Jordan Millette, 18, of Naugatuck, and two 17-year-olds from Naugatuck in the area and charged them in connection with the theft.

While investigating the incident, police said, Kyla Walker, 18, of Oakville, was also located driving in the area, and officers determined she was driving Millette and the two juveniles.

Millette and the two juveniles were charged with sixth-degree larceny, third-degree burglary, conspiracy at sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy at third-degree burglary. Millette was also charged with interfering with an officer.

Walker was charged with conspiracy at sixth-degree larceny and conspiracy at third-degree burglary.

Millette and Walker were released on a 5,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Thursday. The 17-year-olds, whose names weren’t released due to their age, were given a court date to appear in Waterbury Juvenile Court.

There has been an increase in car break-ins recently. The four arrests on Thursday came two days after another juvenile was charged with going through cars and stealing items from a condo complex on New Haven Road.

In this case, police said, they received a suspicious person complaint shortly after 3 a.m. and found the juvenile, whose name wasn’t released, in the area with a Tom Tom GPS and air fresheners. The juvenile was given a court date of March 23 to appear at Waterbury Juvenile Court and released to his mother.

Police said it’s unknown whether the four teens charged on Thursday were involved in past break-ins. If anyone else’s car was broken into Wednesday night into Thursday morning, police asked that they call the department at 203-729-5221.
