OXFORD — Eugene Gosk, 85, of Oxford, the beloved husband of the late Jo-Ann Gilligan Gosk entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at his home. He was born in Poland on Jan. 13, 1932, the son of the late Eugene and Emilia Gosk.

Gene was a devout communicant of St. Thomas the Apostle Church of Oxford. He was the owner of Gene Gosk Siding Company of Oxford. Gene enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and gardening. Most of all he loved being with his family and taking family vacations. He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed taking trips to the casinos. Gene will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts.

Gene’s loving family includes his caring son, Eugene J. Gosk of Oxford, with whom he resided; his two loving daughters, Debra Anderson and her husband, Charles, of Oxford, and Lori-Ann Gies and her husband, James, of Oxford; five beloved sisters, Leokadia Tlalka of Waterbury, Theresa Gosk of Derby, Regina Rogalski of Poland, Celina Iwaszkiewicz of Easton, Alina Magon of Poland; his two cherished grandsons, Jim and his wife, Alyssa, Gies and Kyle and his wife, Britany, Gies; and his two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Charlotte Gies. Several loving nieces and nephews also survive. Gene was predeceased by his beloved granddaughter, Stephanie L. Gies.

A Mass of Christian Burial in Celebration of Gene’s life will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 733 Oxford Road, Oxford, with The Reverend Dominic Valla, pastor, as celebrant. Interment will follow in the family plot at Mountain Meadows Cemetery, Seymour. Friends and relatives may call on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 4 to 7 p.m. at The Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (Route 67, opposite Klarides Village), Seymour.
