SEYMOUR — Adele Barbara (Yakabowskas) Zmuda, 91, a Seymour resident for over 60 years and the beloved wife of the late Henry A. Zmuda, entered into eternal rest peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 at St. Mary Hospital in Waterbury, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Ansonia on Oct. 30, 1925, the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Stella (Waitkus) Yakabowskas. She was a devout communicant of the Church of the Good Shepherd, and was a member of Our Lady Society.

Adele was retired from the Teledine Corporation of Ansonia and was a former employee of the Church of the Good Shepherd for 19 years. She loved being with her family and friends, and was an avid gardener. She loved picking blueberries and couldn’t wait to pass them out to family and friends, which gave her much joy. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for the holiday seasons. Adele will be sadly missed by her family and will always remain forever in our hearts.

She is survived by her sons, David, Robert and Henry; and a daughter-in-law, Lisa, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Stanley Jacobs and Joseph Yakabowskas.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Celebration of Adele’s Life at the Church of the Good Shepherd, Seymour on Monday, February 6, 2017. Entombment will follow in the garden mausoleum at Mount St. Peter Cemetery, Derby. The Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street, Seymour is caring for the family.
