To the editor,
On behalf of my parents, Tom and Mary Alice Sullivan, and our entire family, I would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the members of the Naugatuck Fire Department.
On Thursday, Feb. 16, at 6:19 p.m., the NFD was dispatched to my parents’ home on Field Street. Unbeknownst to my brother, who was the only one home at the time, a fire had started inside the chimney and the side of the house was on fire. Once the firefighters arrived, the fire was quickly extinguished and did not spread throughout the entire house. In addition to putting out the fire, they also took the time to remove photographs from the mantle and walls to save them. Luckily, the house can (and will) be repaired and nobody was hurt in the process. My parents’ home is literally the hub of our entire extended family. It’s where we gather every Friday night to hang out and where we celebrate all the holidays. Thanks to the Naugatuck Fire Department, it’s still standing.
We are so grateful for your service. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
