NAUGATUCK — Robert Charles Elderkin passed into eternal peace on Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 after a long illness. His family extend their gratitude to Beacon Brook Health Care Center in Naugatuck and to Athena Home Health & Hospice.
Bob was born in Waterbury on Nov. 3, 1943, a son of the late Frank and Eva (Daniels) Elderkin of Middlebury. He was a 1961 graduate of Croft High School of Waterbury. Bob worked as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver for many years.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Paula Elderkin; his son, Robert Elderkin and his wife, Gabriela; and their mother, Marie Elderkin, all of Naugatuck; his sister, Barbara, and her husband, Norman Donais, of Oakville; brother, Richard Elderkin of Middlebury. He was predeceased by brother, Frankie Elderkin, who passed in 1958 whom Bob is now reunited with through Christ.
Graveside funeral services and burial will be held at a future date. There are no calling hours. The Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect is in charge of arrangements.
