CHESHIRE — Milton L. Cooke, Jr., 80, husband of Annmarie (Chmielinski) Cooke, passed away due to complications with diabetes on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2016 at Mid- State Medical Center

Milton was born in Cheshire on Sept. 23, 1936 son of the late Milton L. Cooke, Sr., and the late Rose (Mitchell) Cooke. A lifelong resident of Cheshire, he was the former owner of M.L. Cooke’s Auto Sales in Waterbury for many years. Milton proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed boating and was very mechanically inclined. He was captain of the seas on his boat “Adam’s Eve” and spent much time with his family and friends.

Besides his wife Annmarie, he leaves his children, Adam Henry Cooke of Cheshire, Lucinda, Gregory and Jeffery, all of Illinois; his sisters, Rosemary Shelton and her husband, Larry, of Nashville, Tenn., and Helen Cooke of Woodbury; his special 98-year-old father-in-law, Ted Chmielinski of Cheshire; and several nieces and nephews. Milton was predeceased by his sisters, Dorothy Peck and Edna Lauber.

All services will be private based on Milt’s request. Sometime in the spring of 2017, Milt again will be back with the oceans. The Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, Naugatuck, is assisting the family with arrangements.
