Union endorses Conroy for re-election

SEYMOUR — A building service workers union has endorsed state Rep. Theresa Conroy, D-Seymour, in the race in the 105th Assembly District.

The union, 32BJ, represents building service workers union across the country. In a press release, the union stated it is endorsing Conroy as part of its push to win a higher minimum wage and more full-time hours for Connecticut workers next year.

“32BJ members are supporting progressive candidates who are committed to tackling issues that affect working people, including raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour and supporting more full-time work,” said 32BJ Connecticut District Assistant Supervisor Alberto Bernardez in the release. “We are therefore proud to endorse Theresa Conroy for the betterment of our members and their communities.”

Conroy, an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, is running for a third consecutive term, and fourth overall, representing the 105th District, which represents Beacon Falls, Derby and Seymour. She is facing a challenge from Republican Nicole Klarides-Ditria, the deputy first selectman in Seymour.
