Obituary: Lillian Steward

PROSPECT — Lillian Eva (Oates) Steward, 76, of Naugatuck, died Saturday, Oct. 15 at Regal Care of Prospect. Lillian was born Jan. 14, 1940 in Bristol, daughter of the late Ellsworth and Mellissa (Adams) Oates.

She was retired from Nitzuko, where she worked as an assembler. She was a member of the Federation for the Blind, the Salvation Army and the Naugatuck Senior Center.

She leaves her daughter, Janette Steward of Naugatuck; son, William Steward of Concord, N.H.; brother, Byron Oates of Winsted; sister, Elaine Newlove of Naugatuck; one grandchild and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Barbara Elaine Steward; and her brother, Lionel Adams.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, Oct. 22 at 1 p.m. at Naugatuck Congregational Church, Division Street, Naugatuck. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
