WELLFLEET, Mass. — Walter Eibensteiner, 98, passed away on June 17, 2016 at the Seashore Point Wellness and Rehabilitation Center in Provincetown, Mass. He was the son of the late Alois and Emilie (Strapetz) Eibensteiner, and the husband of Helen (Mis) Eibensteiner. He was predeceased by his first wife, Norma (Cederholm) Eibensteiner.

Walter was a proud member of Shepherd Salem Lodge #78 of Naugatuck, Conn., the Scottish Rite Bodies, Valley of Waterbury and a 32nd degree member of Lafayette Consistory of Bridgeport, Conn. He retired as a foreman from the Homer D. Bronson Co., Beacon Falls, Conn. after 40 years of service. He also served in the U.S. Merchant Marines. Walter was an active member of the Congregational Church of Beacon Falls holding many board positions, as well as singing in the choir. Upon retiring to Wellfleet in 1985, he sang in the choir of the First Congregational Church for 30 years. He enjoyed music, fishing, gardening, woodworking, and was an avid outdoorsman.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Helen Eibensteiner; daughter, Gail Mannel and her husband, Ernest, from Charleston, Maine; grandson, David; four great-grandchildren; and two nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Bruno Eibensteiner.

A private graveside service will be held in Grove Cemetery, Naugatuck, Conn., on Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016. The Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck is assisting the family with the arrangements.
