OXFORD — Ronald Joseph Churko, 67, of Oxford, the beloved husband of 26 years to Patricia Jordan Churko, entered into rest peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2016. He was born in Manhattan, N.Y., on Oct. 5, 1948, beloved son of the late Joseph and Eleanor Marsullo Churko.

Ron was a salesman for DiGiorgi Roofing and Siding of Beacon Falls for 28 years. He proudly served his country as a sergeant in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. Ron was a long time Stratford resident prior to moving to Oxford 13 years ago. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed long rides with his wife Patricia and friends. Ron was very handy and could fix just about anything. His friends and family referred to him as MacGyver. Ron will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts.

His loving family in addition to his wife, Patricia, includes his two sons, Jason Keenan and his wife, Dena, of West Haven, and Sean Keenan and his wife, Kelly, of Brooklyn, N.Y.; his daughter, Evin Guy and her fiancé, Nate Knight, of Santa Cruz, Calif.; his sister, Janet Parks and her husband, Don, of Cedar Rapids, Ia.; his cherished grandsons, Donny Bender and Milo Keenan; his cherished granddaughters, Laurel Guy, Annadel Knight, Danielle Keenan and Rose Keenan; his three sisters-in-law, Jo-Ann Yachymczk, Marsha Jordan and her husband, Michael, and Jackie Wysocki; his caring niece, Wendy Benny and her spouse, Amy Nickerson, and several other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016 from 4 until 6 p.m. at the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., (RT. 67, opposite Klarides Village), Seymour. Full Military Honors will be accorded following the visitation at 6 p.m. After the military service, the family cordially invites everyone to join them at The Brookside Inn, 231 Oxford Road, Oxford. All other services are private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial gifts in memory of Ron may be made to The Center for Cancer Care at Griffin Hospital through the funeral home.
