BEACON FALLS — Jean L. Stevens, 81, of Beacon Falls, formally of Milford, the beloved wife of the late Donald Stevens, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2016, at Griffin Hospital. She was born in Lincoln Hill, Pa., on Aug. 26, 1935 the daughter of the late Eugene and Mildred (Wallack) Puchi.
Jean was an avid homemaker. She enjoyed traveling with her late husband Donald. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends but will remain forever in their hearts.
Jean is survived by her loving sister ,Georgianna and her husband, Virgilio Correia, of Beacon Falls; two sons, George Gyorke and his wife, Dolores, of New Hampshire, and Victor Mera and his wife, Karen, of Waterbury; a daughter, Ruth Xavier of Vermont, several grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her sister, Sally Gyorke.
A Graveside Service in Celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2016 at 1 p.m. (Directly) at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford. There will be no calling hours. The Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Seymour, is caring for the family.
