BEACON FALLS — Betty Auszura, 91, of Beacon Falls, entered peaceful rest on Sept. 5, 2016 at the Griffin Hospital, Derby. She was the beloved wife of the late Leonard P. Auszura. Born on June 29, 1925 in Forest City, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Tachik) Whitcavage.

An avid reader, Betty was retired from the Rex Shoe Factory, volunteered at the Mercy Hospital in Wilkes Barre, Pa., and was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church, Beacon Falls.

She leaves her loving family including her daughter-in-law, Patty Auszura of Beacon Falls; her grandchildren, Peter Auszura and his wife, Laura, of Braintree, Vt., Michael Auszura and his wife, Marybeth, of Fairfield, and Nicholas Auszura of Beacon Falls; her great-grandchildren, Daniel, James, and Justin, and her dear little friends, Ava and Chloe. Her son, Leonard A. Auszura and her grandson, Leonard Auszura predeceased her.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016 at 1 p.m. in St. Michael’s Church, 25 Maple Ave., Beacon Falls. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. The Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour is entrusted with the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s name can be made to St. Michael’s Church Building Fund, or the Beacon Falls Library.
