NAUGATUCK — Cecelia “Ceil” T. (Smolinski) Tata, 96, widow of Anthony Tata, passed away peacefully on Thursday July 7, 2016 at the Lutheran Home of Southbury.
Mrs. Tata was born in Naugatuck on Feb. 4, 1920, daughter of the late Alex and Jennie (Mikulski) Smolinski. A lifelong resident of Naugatuck, she retired from the footwear division of Uniroyal, Inc. after 36 years of service. Ceil was a devout catholic and was a communicant of St. Hedwig’s Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild, Legion of Mary, Rosary Society, and Divine Mercy Prayer Group.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Wojtczak, Jr. and his wife Thelma of Naugatuck; her daughter, Bonita “Bonnie” Dublin, of Naugatuck and Elaine Menillo of Virginia; her seven grandchildren; her eight great-grandchildren; her two great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Ceil was predeceased by her brother, Paul Smolinski and her sister, Alice Reckmack.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to St. Hedwig Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 p.m. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, East Main Street, Waterbury. Visitation will be held on Monday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
