BEACON FALLS — The State Bond Commission this month approved a $235,783 grant-in-aid for Beacon Falls, Oxford and Seymour to pay for a regional purchase of equipment.

The three towns were awarded the funding through the Intertown Capital Equipment purchase incentive program, a press release issued by state Sen. Joseph J. Crisco, Jr., D-Woodbridge, stated.

The ICE purchase incentive program was established to provide grants to municipalities to jointly acquire equipment and vehicles.

Local officials previously said that they were looking to buy a Volvo excavator and trailer, a Volvo vibratory roller and trailer, and a Rawson screener with the help of the grant funds.
