ANSONIA — Frank “Panhead Frank” Willets, 63, beloved husband of Nancy Apanavich Willets, of Ansonia, died peacefully at home on May 1, 2016. Born in White Plains, N.Y. on May 18, 1952, he was the son of the late Frederick and Carmella Mandelli Willets.

Mr. Willets worked as a carpenter for many local companies and retired from the Carpenter’s Union Local 210. In earlier years, he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and was a lifelong Harley Davidson enthusiast. He will be long remembered for his special love for his three cherished granddaughters.

In addition to his wife of 44 years, he is survived by his devoted son, John (Shannon) Willets of Shelton; brothers, Fred Willets of Arizona, his twin brother, Paul (Lorelee) Willets of Ansonia, Wayne (Kathy) Willets of Seymour; sisters, Gwendolyn (Allyre) Cyr of Oxford, and Brenda (Michael) Pavlowski of Naugatuck; granddaughters, Morgan, Carmella and Aislin Willets of Shelton; his loyal canine companion, “Chopper,” as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Joseph Frank Willets and sister, Linda Ruggerio.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call on Wednesday, May 4, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. prior to the service.
