PROSPECT — Doris “Gigi” Lucille (Fournier) Welton, 95, of Prospect, died Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at her home in Prospect surrounded by her loved ones. She was the widow of Joseph L. Welton.

Doris was born April 1, 1921 in Prospect, the daughter of the late Alfred E. and Lucy (Jobin) Fournier.

She retired from Lewis Engineering as quality control inspector. Doris was a member of the P.V.F.D. Auxillary, the Prospect Grange and the American Legion. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church.

Doris is survived by two sons, Ronald J. Welton of Millsboro, Del., and Barry Welton and his wife Alison of Prospect; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Welton-Tsimbidaros and her husband John; and one great-granddaughter, Sarah. She will also be missed by her beloved cat, Holly, and was pre-deceased by her favorite cat, Wilbur.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11 at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, 4 Union City Road, Prospect. Everyone is asked to please meet at the church. Burial will be in Prospect Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect, is in charge of the arrangements.
