NAUGATUCK — The Fraternal Order of Eagles announced that Katie Fleck, of Naugatuck, is the club’s 2016 Mother of the Year.

Fleck, who has eight daughters and two sons, has been an active member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary since 1969 and was its past president, among many other duties, until the auxiliary disbanded and became Aerie members, a press release stated.

Fleck, who is a retired school bus driver, is a bartender at the Eagles Club where she was past bar manager. She is involved with many club events, including the Family Picnic.

“She has always been a tireless volunteer for anything that needs to be done and helps out with a smile on her face and a cheerful word for everyone,” a press release stated.

Fleck will be honored at a dinner ceremony on May 15 at 1 p.m. at the Aerie Home on High Street. She will also be appearing in the Naugatuck Memorial Day parade. For more information, call 203-729-8075.
