Obituary: Ruth Johns Libby

SEYMOUR — Ruth Johns Libby, 88, of Seymour, the beloved wife of Herbert Libby, entered into rest on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. She was born in Seymour on Aug. 19, 1927, the beloved daughter of the late David and Elsie Johns.

Ruth was a longtime executive secretary of the Homer D. Bronson Company. She enjoyed arts and crafts, needle work, snowmobiling and horseback riding and traveling with her husband. Ruth loved to spend time with her family and friends and will be sadly missed by all and will remain forever in our hearts.

Her family, in addition to her beloved husband Herbert, includes several cherished nieces and nephews. Ruth was predeceased by her loving brothers, William Johns, Edward Johns and David Johns.

A Memorial Service in Celebration of Ruth’s life will be held on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 7 p.m. in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank St., Seymour, with Pastor James Midgley, pastor of The Seymour United Methodist Church, officiating. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6 p.m. until the start of the service at 7 p.m. All other services are private and at the convenience of the family.

Memorial gifts in Ruth’s memory may be made to the Griffin Hospital Development Fund or the Seymour Ambulance Association through the funeral home.
