WATERBURY — Mrs. Jennie (Pivirotto) Scarpati, 99, passed away Friday, April 1, 2016 at Watertown Convalarium in Watertown. She was the widow of the late Benedict Scarpati.
Mrs. Scarpati was born in Cheshire, on April 30, 1917, a daughter of the late Gemma and Egidio Pivirotto.
Mrs. Scarpati was a wonderful homemaker, cook and seamstress, an avid gardener who loved her flowers, a creative woman who could do much with very little and was considered to be a very practical and common sense individual. She worked for 20 years in the healthcare field always helping people and cherished her family and grandchildren.
Mrs. Scarpati is survived by a daughter, Joan and her husband Nick Richards of Watertown; two sons, Bill Scarpati of Prospect; and Edward and his wife Cindy Scarpati of Prospect; her sister, Frances Hoshor of Cheshire, seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by Ernesto Pivirotto, Chelso and Guido Pivirotto and her daughter-in-law, Phyllis Scarpati.

Calling hours will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Prospect Memorial Funeral Home, 72 Waterbury Road, Prospect with services at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
