NAUGATUCK — Dorothy “Dottie” Cobbol, 88, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2016 at her home. She was the wife of the late George Cobbol, who passed away in 2012.
Dottie was born July 10, 1927 in Clifton, N.J., the daughter of the late John and Julia Koziar. She and George were married for over 64 years. They raised their family in Naugatuck, and spent as much time as possible in Vermont during the summers. She worked for a number of years at Uniroyal Footwear until her retirement in 1990. She was an exceptional wife, mother and grandmother whose absence will be felt forever.
Dottie is survived by her children, George (Linda) Cobbol of Enfield, Janet (Mark) Melnychuk of Bloomsburg, Pa., David (Claire) Cobbol of Hartford and Timothy (Corrine) Cobbol of Brookfield; her nine grandchildren and her two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Cobbol will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Naugatuck, 201 Meadow St. Burial will follow in Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. Friday morning until the start of the service.
