Dr. Curtiss E. Tate College Scholarship

NAUGATUCK — Applications for the 2016 Dr. Curtiss E. Tate College Scholarship are being accepted through April 6.

The annual $1,500 award is given to a student or child of a student at USA Martial Arts in Naugatuck or Woodbury or any of its affiliated Park and Recreation karate programs. For more information or to apply, email dougwilke7@aol.com or call 203-558-4781.

Nellie and Ruth Cowdell Scholarship

PROSPECT — The Prospect Historical Society is accepting applications for the Nellie and Ruth Cowdell Scholarship.

The scholarship is given annually to a graduating high school senior from Prospect who is attending an institute of higher learning. The scholarship is based on financial need, service and a short essay about Prospect.

Applications can be found online at www.prospecthistoricalsociety.org or at most high school guidance offices. Applications must be received by May 6.

Naugatuck Woman’s Club

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Woman’s Club is accepting applications for two $1,000 scholastic awards.

Naugatuck residents who are high school seniors that are graduating and continuing their education beyond the high school level are eligible to apply. Application packets are available at guidance offices at area high schools.

Winfred B. Langhorst Memorial Scholarship 

NAUGATUCK — St. Michael’s Church is offering the Winfred B. Langhorst Memorial Scholarship.

Naugatuck residents and registered members of the church are eligible to apply for the scholarship, which varies in amount. The student must be a graduating senior from an accredited area high school or an accredited parochial or preparatory school who is planning to attend college or another post-secondary institution of higher learning. The deadline to apply is April 15. Interested students should contact their guidance department for an application.

Naugatuck Portuguese Club

NAUGATUCK — The Naugatuck Portuguese Club is offering three scholarships to students whose parents or guardians are members of the club.

Applicants must be completing their senior year at an accredited high school in Connecticut and planning to attend a two- or four-year school of high education. Applications are available at the club, 110 Rubber Ave., or by contacting John DeCampos at jdecamposjr@yahoo.com or (203) 723-8991. Applications must be postmarked by April 22.
