Police charge men with burglary

NAUGATUCK — Three men are facing charges in connection with the burglary of a Naugatuck bar in January, and one of the men was additionally charged with a separate burglary.

Police arrested Brian Chandler, 30, Shawn Chandler, 49, both of Waterbury, and David McCulloch, 35, of Naugatuck, on warrants last week in connection with a Jan. 20 burglary at Mr. D’s Bar at 876 Rubber Ave.

Police said the men forced their way into the bar and then broke into a cash register. All three were charged with third-degree burglary, second-degree criminal mischief, conspiracy at third-degree and conspiracy at second-degree criminal mischief. They were held on a $2,500 bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Monday.

Brian Chandler was additionally charged in connection with a Feb. 2 burglary at the Eleven Bar at 173 Rubber Ave. Police said he forced entry into the bar and stole $300 from a Jukebox in the bar. He was charged with third-degree burglary, third-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny in this case. He was held on $50,000 surety bond and scheduled to appear in Waterbury Superior Court on Monday.
