Obituary: Irene Paranay-Lambert

NAUGATUCK — Irene Paranay-Lambert was born in Mid-Manhattan Hospital in New York City on Feb. 21, 1937, a daughter to the late Steve and Anna Paranay who relocated their family to Somerville, N.J., when Irene reached school age. She graduated for Summerville High School, and later from Rider College in Trenton, N.J. with a Bachelor of Science degree. While at Rider she met her future husband, Albert W. Lambert, and they married in August 1958.  Her husband of 57 years was at her bedside when she passed away in the Hospice Unit of St. Mary’s Hospital in Waterbury, CT, on March 15, 2016.

Mrs. Lambert later studied handwriting analysis and became a certified graphoanalyst.  She went on to become a master certified graphoanalyst and at the National Congress of the International Society of Graphoanalyst held at Montreal, Canada she was honored by being named Internaional Graphoanalyst of the Year.

Her husband worked for two international corporations and the family moved over the years living in Chicago on two separate occasions, eastern North Carolina, and Wausau, Wisconsin before an assignment at corporate headquarters brought them to Connecticut in the early 1980s where they lived in Brookfield, Danbury, Stratford and finally their retirement location in Naugatuck.  In addition to her husband, Irene is survived, a daughter, Deborah Lambert-Sevetson of Ansonia; a son, Robert C. Lambert of Monroe;  a brother, Alfred Paranay of Oradell, N.J., and her sister-in-law, Joan Lambert-Clark of Stockbridge, Ga., as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 21 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 5 Main St. S., Bridgewater, followed by a luncheon for all guest to honor her memory and celebrate her life.
