Obituary: Arnold Arthur Koehler

PROSPECT — Arnold Arthur Koehler, 73, of Prospect, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016 at West Haven VA Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Judith (Voegeli) Koehler.

Arnie was born Aug. 10, 1942 in New Brunswick, N.J., son of the late Edward and Marcelle (Lethiecq) Koehler. He was a graduate of Kaynor Technical School.

Arnie proudly served his country from 1961 to 1967 in the United States Army.

Prior to his retirement he was employed as a construction supervisor for many years. He was an accomplished woodworker, who made furniture for friends, family and clients.

Arnie was a previous chairman of the Prospect Inland Wetlands and currently served as a member. He also was an active participant in rifle competitions conducted by the Eastern New York Schuetzen Society.

Arnie was a man of few words but was always ready and available for anyone who needed a helping hand.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Cory Koehler Tebbutt, her husband Michael of Sydney, Australia, Jennifer Koehler Ki, her husband Michael of Chicago, Ill.; son, Erik R. Koehler of Orca’s Island, Wash.; and two grandchildren, Aidan Walter Tebbutt and his little buddy Lucas Edward Tebbutt.

The family wishes to extend its deepest thanks to the wonderful staff at the West Haven VA Hospital, particularly Dr. Herta Chao and oncology nurses Marcia and Claudia.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 at 12 p.m. at Prospect Congregational Church, 25 Center St., Prospect. Private burial with full with military honors will be in Prospect Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
