Whittemore announces model ship display

NAUGATUCK — The Whittemore Library is displaying model ships made by 11-year-old Xavier Bliege this month.

Bliege, a sixth-grade student at Hillside Intermediate School in Naugatuck, first became interested in ships after seeing the movie “Titanic,” according to a press release. Bliege, who was diagnosed with autism in 2012, wants to pursue a career in marine salvage when he gets older, the release said.

The display can be viewed at the library, 243 Church St., during regular hours. For more information, call (203) 729-4591.
