BEACON FALLS — Voters approved using contingency money to fund the town’s share of a grant and five budget transfers.

Both motions were approved by 17-0 votes at a town meeting Dec. 29, according to the meeting minutes.

Voters approved using about $19,648 from contingency to fund the town’s share of a grant under the state’s Intertown Capital Equipment Purchase Incentive Program.

Town officials agreed in November to work with Oxford and Seymour to purchase and share three pieces of construction equipment — a Volvo excavator and trailer, a Volvo vibratory roller and trailer, and a Rawson screener — through the state-run program. A state grant would pay for 80 percent of the cost of equipment up to $375,000.

Five budget transfers totaling nearly $89,000 were also approved at the meeting.
