NAUGATUCK — Regina P. (Wozniak) Zapatka, 99, widow of Henry S. Zaptka, passed away peacefully at Paradigm of Prospect on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016.

Mrs. Zapatka was born in Albany, N.Y., on April 16, 1916, daughter of the late Louis and Wanda (Piechkowicz) Wozniak. She lived much of her youth in Albany, and was a graduate of Albany High School. She retired from KMART Co. after many years of service. Regina was a member of Holy Saviour National Catholic Church, where she was organist, sang in the church choir and served as a member of the Ladies Adoration Society. She had also served as secretary of the Polish National Union.

Regina is survived by her son, Henry S. Zapatka, Jr. of Naugatuck; her daughters, Sandra Taylor, and Susan Zapatka, all of Norwood, Mass.; her grandson, Adam Taylor and his wife Meredith; and several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Paradigm of Prospect, especially the Yankee Wing, for the kind and compassionate care given to Regina during her stay.

Her funeral will be held on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 at 9:15 a.m. from the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main St., Naugatuck, to Holy Saviour National Catholic Church for services at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.
