BEACON FALLS — Voters will be asked to approve using contingency money to fund the town’s share of a grant and five budget transfers at a town meeting next week.

The meeting is Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Town Hall, 10 Maple Ave.

Officials are seeking authorization to take roughly $19,648 from contingency to use for grant funding for the Intertown Capital Equipment Purchase Incentive Program.

Town officials agreed in November to work with Oxford and Seymour to purchase and share three pieces of construction equipment — a Volvo excavator and trailer, a Volvo vibratory roller and trailer, and a Rawson screener — through the state-run program. A state grant would pay for 80 percent of the cost of equipment up to $375,000.

Officials will also seek authorization from voters to make five budget transfers totaling nearly $89,000 at the meeting.
