Police investigating burglaries

PROSPECT — Police are investigating two similar burglaries that occurred on Thanksgiving at homes less than 2 miles apart.

Police reported the house at 70 Summit Road was burglarized between 12:45 and 7 p.m. Nov. 26. The suspect or suspects used “blunt force” to break open the front door, police reported. A window pane next to the door was also smashed, police reported.

The only thing reported stolen was a black plastic gun case containing a Glock 23 .40 caliber pistol and a full magazine for the gun, according to police.

During the same timeframe the home at 20 Rosewood Drive was also broken into, police said.

According to police the suspect or suspects broke into the home using blunt force, as well. Nothing was reported stolen, police said.
