NAUGATUCK — Robert E. Paul, 83, beloved husband of Joyce E. LaBay Paul of Naugatuck, died Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2015, at the Gardner Heights Health Care Center with his family by his side. Born in Seymour on Sept. 30, 1932, he was the son of the late Andrew and Julia Kobon Paul.

Mr. Paul was a 1950 graduate of Seymour High School and a proud U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a longtime resident of Shelton before moving to Naugatuck in 2012. A jack of all trades, he owned and operated the City Line Poultry Store and worked as a broker/realtor for the Gleason Real Estate Agency, both of Stratford. Mr. Paul then became the banquet manager of the Hudson River Inn and Conference Center of Ossining, N.Y., and lastly employed as a courier for Griffin Hospital where he worked for 10 years, prior to his retirement in 2011.

Mr. Paul was the past adjutant commander of the DAV, Chapter 20 of Stratford and the past President of the Civitans of Stratford. Together with his wife and family, he enjoyed sailing the world on over 20 cruise vacations. He will be long remembered for his sense of humor, warm personality and generosity.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, Mr. Paul is survived by his devoted children, Renee E. Paul of Shelton and Robert E. Paul and his wife Dawn of Milford; brothers, Andrew Rosetta of California and Daniel A. Paul and his wife, Diane of New York; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Lorraine J. Paul and brother, Thomas Roshetar.

Funeral Services will take place on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015 at 7 p.m. in the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Ave., Ansonia. Interment will be private. Family and friends may call on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m., prior to the service.
