NAUGATUCK — Mary Aldine (Engelhardt) Dunn, 92, a former Naugatuck resident and the widow of Lawrence J. “Bud” Dunn, Sr., passed peacefully Saturday, Dec. 19, 2015 with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Dunn was born in Naugatuck, a daughter of the late George and Mary Ellen “Mae” (Fitzpatrick) Engelhardt, and had lived in Naugatuck most of her life. Mrs. Dunn graduated from Barnard College and earned a master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State College. She taught school at St. Francis School and at Central Avenue School before her retirement. Mrs. Dunn was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church and for the past eight years, while living in Southbury, she attended Sacred Heart Church.

Mrs. Dunn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence J. Dunn, Jr., and Karen (Mirabelle) Dunn of Southington; a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Dunn of Watertown; her six grandchildren, Rachel (Dunn) Ballard, Leslie (Dunn) Carlson, Lawrence J. Dunn, III, Robin (Dunn) Van Voorhies, Allison Dunn and Matthew Dunn, 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Dunn was predeceased by her son, Robert Dunn and her brothers, George Engelhardt and Frederick Engelhardt.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 318 Church St., in Naugatuck. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, Dec. 28, 2015 from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave., Naugatuck.
