BEACON FALLS — The town is working to come up with an agreement with Oxford and Seymour to share three pieces of construction equipment.

Through the state Intertown Capital Equipment Purchase Incentive, the three towns hope to purchase a Volvo excavator and trailer, a Volvo vibratory roller and trailer, and a Rawson screener.

A state grant would pay for 80 percent of the cost of equipment up to $375,000.

First Selectman Christopher Bielik said he expects the equipment to fall short of that threshold, but the towns haven’t yet gone out to bid.

The towns are still ironing out the details of how the equipment would be shared, stored and maintained.

“I think this is a great idea,” Bielik said. “Regionalization, it is where things are going.”
