NAUGATUCK — Jaime Sousa, 63, husband of Maria (Narcisco) Sousa, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Sousa was born in San Migual, Azores, Portugal, son of the late Deodato and Deolinda (Cordiero) Sousa. A longtime resident of Naugatuck, he was educated in Canada, and retired from ShopRite Supermarket. Jaime had also worked at Walbaums for 30 years. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church and enjoyed spending time with his six grandchildren.
Besides his wife Maria of 43 years, Jaime is survived by his daughters, Cindy Sousa-Fink and her husband Norman Fink of Naugatuck, Elizabeth Keefer and her husband Bruce of Hampton, Va., and Nancy Day and her husband Michael of Naugatuck; his grandchildren, Rebecca Fink, Kevin Day, Jamie Fink, Brett Keefer, Derek Day and Evan Keefer; his two sisters, Genevieve Sousa and her husband John of Bridgeport, Fatima Posser and her husband William of Stratford; several nieces and nephews; and other family in Canada.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Those attending are asked to please meet at the church at 9:45 a.m. Burial will follow in St. James Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Naugatuck Valley Memorial/Fitzgerald-Zembruski Funeral Home, 240 North Main Street, Naugatuck.
