NAUGATUCK — At least 11 vehicles had their windows smashed sometime after midnight Friday and Saturday morning, police said.

Police received nearly a dozen complaints of broken car windows in the morning, when people discovered the damage. Broken windows were reported on Phoenix Avenue, High Street, Locust Street, John Street, Johnson Street, Auburn Street, Albion Street and Union City Road. All of the cars were parked on the side of the road.

Police believe the windows were smashed with either a baseball bat or a crowbar, Deputy Chief Joshua Bernegger said. It didn’t appear that anything was taken from the vehicles, he said. Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Ryan Burns at (203) 729-5222.
