NAUGATUCK — Rosa D. Oliveira, 87, the widow of Domingos Laranjeira Silva, died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Mrs. Oliveira was born Sept. 12, 1928 in Bunheiro, Murtosa, Portugal a daughter of the late Manuel Vaz Oliveira and Maria Anunciacao Vilar and had lived in Naugatuck for the past 35 years. Rosa had retired from the Waterbury Neckwear Company and was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church.
Rosa leaves her daughter, Ana Maria Martins of Naugatuck; two sons, Antonio Oliveira of Waterbury and Alberto Silva of Naugatuck; two brothers, Jose Vilar Oliveira and his wife Maria Oliveira of France and Pedro Vilar Oliveira and his wife Luisa Oliveira of Naugatuck; two sisters, Beatriz Vilar Pinho and her husband Joaquim Pinho of Portugal and Gloria Vilar Oliveira and her husband Antonio Sousa of Venezuela; her grandson, Alberto Silva, Jr. of Naugatuck and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 2071 Baldwin St., Waterbury. Burial will be in Bunheiro, Murtosa, Portugal. Calling hours are Saturday from 8 to 9:30 a.m. at the Buckmiller Thurston Mengacci Funeral Home, 82 Fairview Ave, Naugatuck.
