To the editor,

As a longtime resident and current burgess, I have a unique perspective on what makes a successful Board of Education member, and the qualities and attributes that will be beneficial of a candidate for such a position. During her tenure on the board, Dorothy Neth-Kunin brought those characteristics in her service as vice chair.

As an advocate for our kids and programs her passion and dedication for the district goes above and beyond, serving as chair on the curriculum subcommittee, as well as, a member of the finance, Borough Cultural Council, and the Naugatuck Education Foundation subcommittees.

With so many very important issues facing our schools in the coming years, it is imperative that we do our homework and feel good about the candidates that we elect to the Naugatuck school board in the upcoming November election. I know a vote in support of Dorothy Neth-Kunin will bring a board member who will continue to engage the community and seek input and counsel from our business leaders and professionals who share her same passion for improving the quality of education for the students of our community.

I urge residents of Naugatuck to join me in the support of Dorothy Kunin-Neth for the Board of Education.
