Obituary: Charlotte Mohyde DiCamillo

Charlotte Mohyde DiCamillo, 91, died peacefully at her treasured home on Lordship beach surrounded by the love and comfort of her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Domonic DiCamillo for 44 years.

Charlotte, the daughter of John and Elena Mullins Mohyde, was raised in Bridgeport, graduated from Harding High School and received her R.N. from the St. Francis School of Nursing in Hartford. She utilized her nursing skills at both Bridgeport and Park City hospitals and in raising her seven children, 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Dean and his wife, Glenys, of Lordship, Douglas and his wife, Diane, of Monroe, Dan and his wife, Amy, of Lordship; four daughters, Judith Colangelo and her husband, Louis, of Fairfield, Donna DiCamillo of Naugatuck, Elizabeth DiCamillo of East Windsor, Lynn Wetmore and her husband, Edward, of Trumbull. Surviving siblings include four brothers; Charles Mohyde of Shelton; Gerard Mohyde and his wife, Margaret, of Stratford; Finton Mohyde of Stoneham, Mass.; Thomas Mohyde of Stratford; two sisters, Zita Carrano of Stratford and Jackelena “Jay” Beausoleil and her husband, James, of Shelton. Additional survivors include her sister-in-law, Mary DiCamillo Miko and her husband, William, of Bridgeport. Charlotte was predeceased by her sister, Mary Lynch; her brothers, Jack Mohyde and Leonard Mohyde, and grandson Justin Wetmore.

Charlotte will always be remembered for her love of faith and family, her cheerfulness and strength and especially for her beautiful, sparkling Irish blue eyes.

Friends are invited to attend her funeral services on Monday, Sept. 28 at 10:30 a.m. directly at Our Lady of Peace Church, 651 Stratford Road, Stratford. Interment to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull. Friends may pay their respects on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Cyril F. Mullins Funeral Home, 399 White Plains Road, Trumbull.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to Our Lady of Peace Sanctuary Fund or the Ronald McDonald House, 405 East 73rd St., NY, NY 10021.
